Friends who have been on a holiday to Austria have told me I have to take my clothes off in a sauna.  Is that true?

What happens if I book a winter holiday and there is no, or only very little snow, when I get there?

Friends who have been on a holiday to Austria have told me I have to take my clothes off in a sauna.  Is that true?  Yes. A significant number of our partner hotels offer sauna facilities for their guests.  Nudity is the norm in most saunas/steam rooms in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and South Tyrol (Northern Italy).  Clothing and swimwear inhibits the circulation and synthetic fabrics can breed bacteria; for this reason you may be requested to remove either your clothing or yourself from the facilities by concerned fellow users or staff.  Then again, nobody will find anything wrong if you are wrapped into a towel (and as it happens, you even will be required to bring a second towel to sit on as well!).

What happens if I book a winter holiday and there is no, or only very little snow, when I get there?  Regrettably, as much as we would like, we cannot give a snow guarantee.  On our winter holidays, snow reliability can vary from year to year, and month to month.  However, because of the unique nature of our winter holidays, you can still enjoy wonderful walks and you will find plenty of fun things to do at your holiday resort.  The (winter walking) maps provided show a variety of trail walks, which can be done even if there is little or no snow.  In addition, your Tour Pack will include a list of local attractions, possible excursions and other activity ideas for your holiday.
