Planning your walking holiday - book a ferry

You may prefer the convenience of taking your own car and travelling through France, the Netherlands or Belgium. This can offer valuable savings.

It will also allow you to pack your car with all your walking holiday essentials and stop en-route.  For those wishing to drive to and from their walking holiday destination please find below some links to websites that you may find useful.  In this section we have also listed some of the major ferry routes and their operators from the UK to destinations in continental Europe.

When using the motorways in continental Europe please bear in mind that tolls may be payable.  Snow tyres are strongly recommended when travelling to winter holiday locations.
