The Dolomites & South Tyrol

The awe-inspiring Dolomites and the adjoining South Tyrol may just be the ultimate walking holiday destination… The Dolomites, these stunningly beautiful ramparts of pink-white limestone, are famous for mountain meadows covered in richly-coloured wildflowers, exhilarating Via Ferrate and, of course, the superlative Dolomites walking. South Tyrol, with its 300 sunny days per year, may at first glance deceive us into thinking it is South Tyrol Austria, but instead it is actually South Tyrol Italy. With its snow-capped mountains, apple orchards and lush wine-growing valleys, flowers in abundance, historic castles and picture-book villages it offers some of the most appealing scenery in Italy combined with some of the best walking in Europe.
